a big pink flock of robins
pink because the sunset + their breasts
eat worms despite
a hotter earth

and all the cockatoo could do
was lick with its five boned tongue
and peck with it's two boned lips
and speak to us at an angle

like a blue bird
with a black song

and a red beak
that picks at dusty crickets

to
"fuck me" like a
bird that
lives in a dark wet fir
one that is still alive inside
its ribs

and not the chapel bells played hastily
that old tune too fast
that old mary had a little lamb
but ultra tempo
not like that
